Storm Chevron is engineered European oak laid in a chevron pattern. Storm is a soft grey oak with a muted, slightly weathered tone. The grain and the odd small knot still show through, so the floor reads as natural timber rather than a flat grey. In chevron the angled ends meet in a clean V, and that variation makes the V stand out along the room.
Oak blocks, 600 × 120 × 15 mm, with a 4 mm European oak top layer on an 11 mm hardwood plywood core. A/B/C grade, so small knots and natural features appear and are filled to match. Matt PU lacquer on a lightly wire brushed surface, micro bevelled edges and tongue and groove joins. The blocks are glued directly to the subfloor. Slip rating P3. Each pack holds 10 blocks and covers 0.72 m².
Chevron is a little more formal and more directional than herringbone. It suits modern homes with white or charcoal joinery, concrete benchtops and black window frames, and it calms down a busy room.
The 4 mm oak top layer can be sanded and refinished during the life of the floor, which is a real advantage over thinner engineered boards.
Pattern floors take longer to set out and lay than plank, and every edge block is cut, so the quote allows for more waste and more labour. The subfloor has to be flat and dry, because short blocks show every dip. We check moisture and flatness at the measure and include any levelling in the quote. Engineered European oak is the floor we approve over underfloor heating, installed to the product instructions. It is not suited to bathrooms or laundries.

Questions
Each pack covers 0.72 m². Pattern floors need more allowance for cuts than plank; at about 12% extra you need roughly 11.2 m², which is 16 packs. We confirm the allowance from your actual room shapes at the measure.
It sits in the middle. The grey is soft and slightly brown underneath, so it works with both cool whites and warmer timber furniture. A sample in your own light is the best guide.
No, it is engineered. The top 4 mm is real European oak, so the surface you see and walk on is genuine oak and can be sanded later, and the plywood core keeps the block stable.
