Sunset Oak Vinyl Plank
Vinyl Plank · 1524 × 230 mm

Luxury vinyl plank
Six oak-look colours in a 5 mm glue-down vinyl plank, supplied and installed from our Camberwell showroom. Here is what vinyl plank is, how it compares with hybrid, and where it suits.
In short
Our vinyl plank is a 5 mm luxury vinyl plank glued to the subfloor, in six oak-look colours. It is not a timber product. Glued down, it sits low and feels quiet underfoot, and it suits kitchens, living areas, rentals and commercial spaces, provided the subfloor is smooth and flat. The same six colours also come as an 8 mm click hybrid.

Vinyl plank is a thin, flexible plank made from vinyl. The oak look is a printed layer protected by a clear wear layer, so it is not timber and can't be sanded. Ours is a 5 mm plank that is glued to the subfloor, rather than clicked together and floated like hybrid.
Glued down, it sits low and feels solid and quiet underfoot. The trade-off is that it needs a smooth, flat subfloor, because a thin plank shows every bump underneath.
Six oak-look colours, all with the same specifications: 1524 × 230 mm planks, 5 mm thick, a 0.5 mm wear layer with a PUR surface treatment, slip rating P3 (AS 4586) and R10, fire rating Bfl-S1, and use class 33 commercial and 42 industrial under ISO 10874. Eight planks per pack cover 2.80 m². The manufacturer's warranty is 25 years for homes and 15 years for commercial use.

Neither is timber, and neither can be sanded. If you would prefer a real timber floor, please see our engineered oak.
Vinyl plank suits kitchens, living areas, rentals, offices and shops. Its low height helps where a new floor meets existing tiles or doors that can't be trimmed, and the high use class suits busy commercial spaces. Water on the surface won't hurt the planks. In bathrooms and laundries we use an adhesive suited to wet areas; it is not for shower recesses or anywhere with regular running water.
Most of the work in a vinyl floor is in the preparation. On a concrete slab we test for moisture and apply a levelling compound so the surface is smooth; on a timber subfloor we may sheet over it first. Then the planks are glued down and rolled. We check all of this at the measure and include any removal and subfloor preparation in the quote. If you have underfloor heating, talk to us before you choose: the floor we approve over heating is engineered European oak.
Sweep or vacuum, then damp mop with a mild cleaner. Use felt pads under furniture and a mat at outside doors, because grit is what wears the surface over time. More on our care and warranty page.

Questions
No. Our vinyl plank is a flexible 5 mm plank that is glued down. Hybrid is a rigid SPC click plank that floats over the subfloor with its own underlay. The same six colours come in both.
Water on the surface won't damage the planks. For bathrooms and laundries we use an adhesive suited to wet areas. It is not for shower recesses or anywhere with regular running water.
Sometimes. Because it is thin and glued down, the surface underneath has to be smooth, flat and firmly fixed, or it will show through. Often we take up the old floor and level the subfloor first. We check this at the free measure.
No. The oak look is printed under a clear wear layer. If a plank is badly damaged, it is replaced rather than sanded.
25 years for homes and 15 years for commercial use, from the manufacturer, as long as it is installed and cared for to the instructions. The exact term is confirmed on your quote, and our installation work and your Australian Consumer Law rights are separate.
