Edgey is one of the darker, more characterful boards in our engineered oak range. Floors like this suit spacious, well-lit rooms and pale walls, where the depth of colour has room to show.
It is a standard plank at 1900 × 190 × 15 mm, with a 4 mm oak wear layer, micro bevel, tongue and groove, and a brushed, matte surface. Six boards per pack, covering 2.166 m².
A dark floor absorbs light. In a north-facing living room with big glass it looks rich and grounded. In a hallway with one small window, it can make the space feel narrower. Hold the sample on the floor in your darkest room in the late afternoon. If you like it there, it should suit the rest of the house too.
White or warm white walls, pale stone benchtops and brass or black fittings all stand out against it. It suits the formal front rooms of a Victorian terrace, and it gives a modern townhouse a heavier, more settled base. Pair it with light upholstery and a rug to break up a large area.
Darker floors show pale dust and pet hair more than mid tones. The brushed texture helps with fine scratches, since marks catch less light than on a smooth board. If that is a concern, look at Hidalgo, which is warm but a little less intense.
If you like the colour but have a large open-plan area, Edgey also comes as a 2200 × 220 mm wide board. Some clients use the wide board in the living space and the plank in bedrooms.
Standard engineered T&G: glued to a moisture-tested slab, or fixed or floated over a sound timber subfloor. We let the boards acclimatise in the house before laying. Once down, vacuum and damp mop. See our dark tones guide, the full engineered oak range, or ask for a free sample.
