NSW Spotted Gum is a mid brown Spotted Gum look in our 7 mm hybrid range. Boards range from honey tan to deeper brown with darker gum veins, so the floor has a lot of colour movement from plank to plank.
Specifications
1524 × 228 mm planks, 7 mm thick: 5 mm SPC core, 0.5 mm wear layer and 2 mm attached acoustic underlay. Embossed surface, micro bevel, Unilin click, floating installation. EN 685 domestic heavy and commercial light, slip rating P3 (AS 4586). Six boards per pack (2.085 m², 19.5 kg).
7 mm or 9 mm
The same colour name also comes as NSW Spotted Gum 9 mm, a 9 mm board with a 7 mm core, 1545 × 228 mm and five to a pack. This board is 7 mm with a 5 mm core, 1524 × 228 mm and six to a pack. Wear layer, underlay and ratings are the same. Compare the two samples before you choose.
How it differs from our NSW Spotted Gum laminate
Our NSW Spotted Gum laminate is a 12 mm board, 2260 × 236 mm, on separate underlay and kept out of wet areas. This hybrid is highly water resistant and can go in bathrooms and laundries, though not a shower. The colours differ too.
Why it suits busy households
The mix of light and dark boards hides everyday marks and dust, which suits family rooms and homes with dogs. We draw from several packs at once so dark boards spread out evenly.
Installation
It floats over a flat, dry subfloor. Hybrid is not approved for underfloor heating; if you have it or plan to put it in, our engineered European oak is the floor approved for it. Browse warm browns and the hybrid range.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between NSW Spotted Gum hybrid and laminate?
The hybrid is 7 mm with a 5 mm SPC core, attached underlay and a highly water resistant board. The laminate is 12 mm with longer boards and needs to stay out of wet areas.
How many packs for a 35 m² kitchen and family room?
35 m² plus 10% is 38.5 m². At 2.085 m² per pack, 38.5 ÷ 2.085 = 18.5, so order 19 packs.
Why do some boards look much darker than others?
That is the Spotted Gum look, which varies a lot in real timber too. We mix boards from several packs during laying to spread the darker ones out.
What warranty comes with NSW Spotted Gum 7 mm Hybrid?
25 years limited for homes and 10 years limited for light commercial use, from the manufacturer. It covers manufacturing defects and the finish wearing through under normal use, as long as the floor is installed and cared for to the instructions. The exact term is confirmed on your quote. Our installation work and your Australian Consumer Law rights are separate from it.
