Oxburgh is a textured, rustic oak from our reactive-finish series. The boards are brushed to open up the grain, then finished with a reactive treatment, so no two boards look quite the same. Laid across a room, that variation gives the floor an aged, characterful look.
A board with this much character suits bigger rooms where the pattern has space to repeat. Across a 30 m² living area the light and dark boards average out into a textured whole. In a small room, a handful of darker boards together can look like a patch. Before deciding for a small space, lay out several boards together at the showroom and step back.
Oxburgh sits with our neutral grey shades. It works with plaster-white walls, black steel windows and natural stone, and it keeps a modern renovation from feeling too polished. In a warehouse-style townhouse or a mid-century house in Balwyn North with timber ceilings, it adds texture without competing. The uneven colour and matte surface also hide everyday marks, which helps in a house with kids.
Installation follows our standard engineered oak process: a moisture test on concrete and a flatness check, then the boards are glued down or fixed over timber. We blend boards from several packs as we lay so the colour spreads evenly. Care is straightforward: vacuum regularly to remove grit, use felt pads under furniture and clean with a damp mop.
Compare Oxburgh with Westminster and Jacobean from the same series, or with Smoke Grey herringbone if you want the texture to come from pattern instead. See the grey and neutral shades page and the full engineered oak range. You're welcome to ask for a free sample, or call us on 1300 690 160.

Questions
It can be, but the variation shows best in larger rooms. For a small space, lay several boards out together at the showroom first to see how it reads.
Each pack covers 2.166 m². With about 10% extra you would order for 33 m², which is 16 packs.
The reactive finish reacts differently with each board, which produces the variation. It is intentional, and installers mix packs so it spreads evenly.
