Pale Oak Herringbone is a light sandy oak look from our 9 mm hybrid herringbone range. The grain is soft, with gentle cathedral figure and the occasional small knot, and there is little difference in colour between blocks. The zigzag shows mostly through the fine bevelled joins rather than through contrast.
Pattern floors in dark or busy colours can make a small room feel smaller. A pale herringbone keeps the pattern but reflects light, which suits a townhouse entry, an apartment living room or a study with one window. It goes well with white walls, light timber and linen-coloured furniture. Pale floors hide dust well but show dark grit and mud, so a mat at the back door helps. If you prefer a plank in a light oak look, see Nordic Oak; our Pale Oak planks are a deeper taupe.
The 650 × 127 mm blocks click together with a Unilin joint and float over the subfloor, with a 2 mm acoustic underlay attached, so there is no glue. The pattern is set out from a centreline and cut at every wall and doorway, so it needs more waste than the usual 10% for plank; we calculate it at the measure. In an apartment, please check the building's acoustic rules before you order.
9 mm total, 7 mm SPC core, 0.5 mm wear layer, embossed surface, micro bevel. EN 685 domestic heavy and commercial light, P3 slip. 18 blocks per pack cover 1.486 m², 17.5 kg a pack. The board is highly water resistant and can go in bathrooms and laundries, but not in a shower. It cannot be sanded, so we recommend keeping a few spare blocks.

Questions
Each pack covers 1.486 m². At the usual 10% you would need 16.5 m², and 16.5 ÷ 1.486 = 11.1, which is 12 packs. Herringbone needs a larger allowance than that, so we calculate the final number at the measure.
Less than a dark or high-contrast one. The blocks are close in colour, so the pattern reads softly through the joins.
Slightly warm. It is a sandy beige oak, warmer than Sandstone Herringbone, which has more of a grey-taupe cast.
25 years limited for homes and 10 years limited for light commercial use, from the manufacturer. It covers manufacturing defects and the finish wearing through under normal use, as long as the floor is installed and cared for to the instructions. The exact term is confirmed on your quote. Our installation work and your Australian Consumer Law rights are separate from it.
