Elegance

Elegance is one of our 12 mm laminate floors, and it sits with our light oak and blonde tones. The name doesn't tell you much more than that, so we suggest seeing it at our showroom or taking a free sample home.

Like the rest of the range, it has long, wide boards (2260 × 236 mm) and a 4D embossed-in-register surface, where the texture is pressed to match the printed grain. The Välinge 5G click system joins the boards on the long and short edges, and the floor floats on an underlay rather than being glued or nailed. A carton holds four boards, 2.13 m².

Where laminate makes sense

Rentals, family rooms, apartments on a flat slab, and anywhere you want a timber look at a lower cost than real timber. It is not suited to bathrooms or anywhere that may get standing water. A light laminate like Elegance is a common choice for freshening up an investment unit between tenants, because it brightens a room and goes down quickly.

Light floors in small spaces

In a one or two-bedroom apartment around Box Hill or Doncaster, a pale floor keeps the space from feeling boxed in. Running the same boards through the living room, hallway and bedrooms, without thresholds where possible, helps too. Long 2260 mm boards mean fewer end joins across a narrow room.

Install and care

We check the slab for flatness and moisture, lay a moisture barrier and underlay, then click the boards together with an expansion gap at each wall. In apartments, the underlay should match your owners corporation's acoustic rules. Clean with a vacuum and a damp mop. Light floors show dark grit, so doormats at the entry help.
