Light Sands is a pale, sandy beige oak look from our 7 mm hybrid range. The grain is soft, with a few small knots and light cathedral patterns, and there is just enough warmth that it does not look white.
Specifications
1524 × 228 mm planks, 7 mm thick: 5 mm SPC core, 0.5 mm wear layer and 2 mm attached acoustic underlay. Embossed surface, micro bevel, Unilin click, floating installation. EN 685 domestic heavy and commercial light, slip rating P3 (AS 4586). Six boards per pack (2.085 m², 19.5 kg).
Good for smaller rooms
A sandy floor reflects light well, which helps in one-bedroom units and narrow terraces where the living room gets light from one side only. It suits a pared-back Scandi or Japandi look, with white or oat walls, light timber, rattan and linen.
What to expect
Light floors hide dust and fluff well but show dark grit, mud and coffee drips. A mat at the entry helps a great deal. Compared with White Haven, Light Sands is warmer and more beige; White Haven is closer to a whitewashed look. The board is highly water resistant, so it can run into a bathroom or laundry, though not a shower. Please wipe up kitchen spills promptly rather than leaving them on the joins.
Ordering and installation
Each pack weighs 19.5 kg, so a 40 m² unit (22 packs) is about 429 kg of flooring. If your building has stairs only or a booked lift, please let us know at the measure and quote. The boards float on their attached underlay. Hybrid is not approved for underfloor heating; if you have it or plan to put it in, our engineered European oak is the floor approved for it. Frequently asked questions
How many packs of Light Sands for a 40 m² apartment?
40 m² plus 10% is 44 m². At 2.085 m² per pack, 44 ÷ 2.085 = 21.1, so order 22 packs, which weigh about 429 kg in total.
Is Light Sands too yellow?
It is a warm, sandy beige rather than yellow. If you want something cooler and paler, compare it with White Haven.
Does it suit an apartment?
It can, provided it meets your building's acoustic rules for hard floors. Please check those before ordering.
What warranty comes with Light Sands Hybrid?
25 years limited for homes and 10 years limited for light commercial use, from the manufacturer. It covers manufacturing defects and the finish wearing through under normal use, as long as the floor is installed and cared for to the instructions. The exact term is confirmed on your quote. Our installation work and your Australian Consumer Law rights are separate from it.
