Tasmanian Oak is a light pinkish tan plank from our 7 mm hybrid range. It copies the Australian hardwood rather than European oak, so the grain is fine and straight, with thin dark gum streaks here and there and no big cathedral patterns. Some boards lean pinker and some more straw coloured.
Not a European oak look
The name can be confusing. Tasmanian oak is a group of Australian eucalypts, not a true oak, and it has been used for floors, stair treads and joinery in Victorian homes for a long time. This print follows that look: a warm, slightly rosy tan that suits weatherboards, Californian bungalows and renovated period houses where the original boards were a similar colour. If you want the broader grain and knots of European oak, look at Light Sands instead.

Before you order
The board is highly water resistant, so it can run through a kitchen, bathroom or laundry, but not into a shower recess or anywhere with regular running water. Please wipe up standing water promptly, as it can reach the subfloor through the joins. Hybrid is not approved for underfloor heating; if you have it or plan to install it, our engineered European oak is the floor approved for it. Frequently asked questions
Is Tasmanian Oak hybrid pink?
It has a soft pinkish cast in a light tan base, which is typical of the real timber. Next to white walls it reads as a warm, light floor rather than pink. Check a sample in daylight and again at night under your own lights.
How is it different from Light Sands?
Light Sands is a sandy beige European oak look with softer, broader grain. Tasmanian Oak is warmer and pinker, with the fine straight grain and gum streaks of an Australian hardwood.
How many packs for a 22 m² living room?
22 m² plus 10% is 24.2 m². At 2.085 m² per pack, 24.2 ÷ 2.085 = 11.6, so you would order 12 packs.
What warranty comes with Tasmanian Oak Hybrid?
25 years limited for homes and 10 years limited for light commercial use, from the manufacturer. It covers manufacturing defects and the finish wearing through under normal use, as long as the floor is installed and cared for to the instructions. The exact term is confirmed on your quote. Our installation work and your Australian Consumer Law rights are separate from it.
