Majestic is the darkest floor in our 9 mm hybrid plank range: a deep chocolate brown oak look with long cathedral grain, a few knots and darker streaks running along each board. In daylight you see a reddish-brown warmth in it rather than a black or espresso finish.
Living with a dark floor
A dark floor looks best in a room with good light and pale walls, where the contrast shows it to advantage. In a small, dim room it can make the space feel tighter. It is also worth thinking about upkeep. Dark floors show dust, pet hair, sand and dried water marks more than mid tones do. The embossed surface breaks up light reflection a little, which helps, but expect to vacuum more often than you would with a honey or grey floor.
Plank and herringbone in the same colour
Majestic also comes as Majestic Herringbone. A common layout is herringbone in the entry or dining room and plank through the living areas. The two come in different pack sizes and need different waste allowances, so we measure each area separately. We suggest putting the two samples side by side in the showroom before you decide.

EN 685 domestic heavy and commercial light, P3 slip rating. Five boards per pack cover 1.761 m², and a pack weighs 23 kg. The board is highly water resistant and suits bathrooms and laundries, though not a shower. It cannot be sanded, so we recommend keeping a few spare boards.

Frequently asked questions
How many packs of Majestic for a 24 m² lounge and dining room?
Each pack covers 1.761 m². 24 m² plus 10% is 26.4 m², and 26.4 ÷ 1.761 = 14.99, so you would order 15 packs.
Will a dark floor like Majestic show marks?
Yes, more than a mid-tone floor. Dust, pet hair and grit are easier to see on dark brown, so a doormat and regular vacuuming help a great deal.
Can I run Majestic plank into Majestic Herringbone?
Yes, both are in the Majestic colour and the same 9 mm thickness. We measure the plank and herringbone areas separately because the packs and waste allowances differ.
What warranty comes with Majestic Hybrid?
25 years limited for homes and 10 years limited for light commercial use, from the manufacturer. It covers manufacturing defects and the finish wearing through under normal use, as long as the floor is installed and cared for to the instructions. The exact term is confirmed on your quote. Our installation work and your Australian Consumer Law rights are separate from it.
