Native Spotted Gum is a mid brown hybrid plank from our 9 mm plank range. The print has the wavy, rippled grain spotted gum is known for, in honey and olive-brown tones, with some boards a shade lighter and some a shade darker. It is calmer than a lot of real spotted gum, which can swing from cream to deep red within one room.
The look in a room
Spotted gum has long been popular in Melbourne homes, and this is an easy way to get the look over a slab or in a renovation where solid hardwood is not practical. The mid brown hides everyday dust and grit well, which suits families and homes with dogs. If you want more colour movement between boards, compare it with NSW Spotted Gum hybrid. For a pattern in the entry or dining room there is Native Spotted Gum Herringbone; we cannot guarantee an exact colour match, so we suggest comparing samples.
Specifications
Each board is 1545 × 228 mm and 9 mm thick: a 7 mm SPC core, a 0.5 mm wear layer and a 2 mm acoustic underlay attached to the back. Unilin click, floating installation, embossed surface, micro bevel edges. Rated EN 685 domestic heavy and commercial light, P3 slip. Five boards per pack cover 1.761 m², at 23 kg a pack.
Kitchens, bathrooms and laundries
The board is highly water resistant and can go in bathrooms and laundries, but not a shower recess or anywhere with regular running water. Water left sitting can reach the subfloor through the joins. Hybrid is not approved for underfloor heating; if you have it or plan to put it in, our engineered European oak is the floor approved for it.

How many packs of Native Spotted Gum for a 40 m² open-plan area?
Each pack covers 1.761 m². 40 m² plus 10% is 44 m², and 44 ÷ 1.761 = 24.99, so you would order 25 packs.
How is it different from real spotted gum boards?
Real spotted gum is solid or engineered hardwood that can be sanded and recoated. This is a printed decor over a 7 mm SPC core with a 0.5 mm wear layer, so it cannot be sanded, but the board is highly water resistant and it floats rather than being nailed or glued.
Can I put Native Spotted Gum in a laundry?
Yes. The board is highly water resistant and suits laundries and bathrooms, though not a shower recess. Standing water can still reach the subfloor through the joins, so please wipe up leaks promptly.
What warranty comes with Native Spotted Gum Hybrid?
25 years limited for homes and 10 years limited for light commercial use, from the manufacturer. It covers manufacturing defects and the finish wearing through under normal use, as long as the floor is installed and cared for to the instructions. The exact term is confirmed on your quote. Our installation work and your Australian Consumer Law rights are separate from it.
